A Relationship with Jesus
Christianity is a faith centered on Jesus Christ. It’s not about just following a set of rules or going to church, but about knowing Jesus personally. Christians believe that Jesus offers hope and a new purpose for life. Christianity is about learning how to live like Jesus did—loving God, caring for people, and finding true meaning and peace in our lives.
God’s Son and Our Savior
Christians believe Jesus is God’s Son who came to earth to show us God’s love. He lived a life without sin and taught about God’s kingdom. He willingly gave His life on the cross to pay for our mistakes and rose again, showing that death isn’t the end. Because of what He did, anyone who believes in Him can have a fresh start and a new life.
What Separates Us from God
Sin is when we do or think things that go against what God wants for us. It’s the selfishness, pride, and harmful choices that hurt us and others. Sin is what keeps us away from a close relationship with God. Christians believe that everyone has sinned and that’s why we all need Jesus—He came to take away the barrier of sin so we can be close to God again.
Finding Community and Growth
Church is more than a building or a weekly event. It’s a community where people can learn about Jesus together, find support and encouragement, and grow in their faith. It’s a place to ask questions, build friendships, and find purpose by serving others. Christians believe that being part of a church helps us stay connected to God and to each other as we live out our faith every day.
Saying Yes to Jesus
Becoming a Christian is about saying yes to Jesus and starting a relationship with Him. It means recognizing that we need His forgiveness and deciding to trust Him. You can begin with a simple prayer, telling God you’re ready to follow Him and asking for His help. It’s a personal choice, and you don’t need to have all the answers to take this first step.
Talking to God
Prayer is simply talking to God. There’s no special formula—just be real and honest. You can thank Him for the good in your life, ask for help with challenges, and share what’s on your heart. It can be spoken out loud or quietly in your mind. The most important thing is to remember that God cares about you and loves to hear from you.
