North Park Boathouse
Jeff Leake Walk for Hope 5K
Network of Hope is hosting its annual 5K at the North Park Boathouse on Saturday, September 5th, 2026! Formerly known as the Walk for Hope 5K, we are permanently renaming this event to be the "Jeff Leake Walk for Hope 5K" in honor of the life and legacy of our founder and Executive Director, Pastor Jeff Leake. His heart, leadership, and vision shaped the mission of Network of Hope from the very beginning. Pastor Jeff’s passion for reaching “the one” inspired the founding of Network of Hope in 2002, and his commitment to bringing practical help and lasting hope to people in need continues to guide the work we do today.
This name change is more than a tribute – it is a way for us to carry forward Pastor Jeff’s legacy year after year. The Jeff Leake Walk for Hope 5K will continue to bring individuals, churches, families, businesses, and community partners together around the shared mission of meeting real needs, serving our neighbors, and reminding people facing difficult circumstances that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.
This event welcomes any and all to participate in a fun, family-friendly 5K to raise funds for food insecurity in Western PA! Both walkers and runners welcome. All proceeds from this year's event will go toward the three regional food banks we fund, which strive to help end hunger and food insecurity needs here in Pittsburgh by serving over 24,000 people on distribution days! This year, our goal is to raise $30,000 through this 5K. Reaching this goal would provide a full year’s supply of food for one of our food banks, allowing us to continue serving hungry and food-insecure individuals and families throughout the Pittsburgh area.
If you register 4+ people, you will receive a $5 discount per attendee!
*ALL participants will receive a race t-shirt and some other FREE goodies.
We also want to thank our MANY incredible community sponsors who help make this event possible!
