2008 GENERATIONS CAMPAIGN

1. COMPASSION: $ 1 2 5 , 0 0 0
Over the years, Allison Park Church has made an impact by bringing the Hope of Jesus Christ to the lost and hurting throughout the world.
Africa Oasis
Ron Hanson is working to drill fresh water wells to help bring clean drinking water to African villages. When Missionaries bring clean water sources --even in villages where Islam is practiced—this opens up the door to build churches and demonstrate God's love in practical ways.
Project Rescue
David and Beth Grant oversee this ministry to rescue young girls who are trapped in sexual slavery in the nation of India. Funds contributed will support Homes of Hope in India, where these women are rescued, housed, loved, and discipled.
Orphanage Projects
Our goal is to continue providing resources to the orphanages we partner with in Mexico, China and Nicaragua.
2. MISSION SOS: $ 1 0 0 , 0 0 0
Signs + Wonders Festival
In March 2008, APC will partner for a third time with our good friends, Johannes Amritzer and the SOS Missions Team, to host a Signs + Wonders Festival and Pastors’ Conference in Ethiopia. We will return to Harar, where our team ministered in 2006, taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to 4 unreached people groups: Afar, Oromo, Harari and Somali. We believe that the people we send, and the financial support we provide, will directly impact over 430,000 people, and God will once again demonstrate His Love and the Power of His Son, Jesus, in the 2008 Ethiopian Signs + Wonders Festival.
SOS Ministry School
We are excited to announce the launch (Fall ’08) of the Mission SOS Ministry School here at APC. This will provide an opportunity for the men and women of APC to learn how to become warriors for the Lord Jesus Christ. Peter and Martina Almqvist (Mission SOS) are planning to move to Pittsburgh in January ’08, and work with us to build a ministry institute similar to the bible college in Stockholm, Sweden.
3. LOCAL CHURCH EXTENSIONS: $ 1 2 5 , 0 0 0
Pittsburgh City Outreach
God has given Pastor Brian Bolt a vision to reach those who have given up hope in life. Our goals for this next year is to start a second men’s home and to become a self sustaining church.
Network of Hope
continued partnership with NOH Ministries: FoodBank, Celebrate Recovery, Give-AGift, Running Start Bookbag Block Parties, Professional Counseling, Benevolence, etc.
BridgePoint Church
The faith journey continues as we plant our 7TH church in Tarentum, PA! Pastor Greg and Francie Krowitz and their core group at the James 5:16 Center are gearing up for their fi rst service, Easter ’08. The vision of BridgePoint Church is “Connecting Real People to the Real God”.
CityReach ‘08
CityReach has been an exciting way to reach out to several communities throughout the Pittsburgh area. In August 2008, we will sponsor our third CityReach campaign, communicating the love of Jesus Christ with week-long, fun, community events, centered around our innercity church partners.
4. YOUTH CENTER RENOVATIONS: $ 1 0 0 , 0 0 0
In 1999, we opened our 2Twenty Youth Center. The 34 year old facility needs a facelift. A few key upgrades are necessary to reach this sight and sound generation. The vision of 2Twenty is to impact youth in a radical way for Christ. Over the next 5 years, our goal is to see 100+ students accept Christ each year! Our goal this year is to:
• Launch a coffee house for teens
• Sponsor an after school program for at-risk students in partnership with local schools
• Host outreaches that provide opportunities for salvation for youth and children
• Provide weekly high energy, high-tech, Spiritfi lled youth services that leave an eternal impression on our next generation.
Youth Center Renovations
Audio/visual components will be added to the current system to inspire and enable our youth to express themselves in a modern, contemporary worship style, and to clearly hear the preaching of God’s Word.
Construction + Building Remodeling
Lower level renovations will create a more “open” feel and provide more usable space. A new kitchen and Starbucks-type café look will facilitate school outreaches.
5. DEBT REDUCTION: $ 3 0 0 , 0 0 0
If we can raise $300,000 a year toward debt reduction, we will have the entire building paid off in less than seven years.
Our new Ministry Center was completed in Aug ’05 (total cost of $5.7 million); we still owe just over $3.0 million. A priority that we have as a church is to completely liquidate this debt so that APC is unhindered to follow God’s plan for us in the future.
You can designate part of your giving toward debt reduction if you feel led by the Lord to do so.
