We believe in the inspiration of the Scriptures and that they are infallibly and uniquely authoritative and free from error of any sort in all matters with which they deal, including scientific and historical as well as moral and theological (I Timothy 3 :16; I Corinthians 2:13). The Bible is the written Word of God.
God, Himself
We believe in the Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE God existing in THREE persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; distinguishable but indivisible (Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13-14).
The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, who lived a sinless life and performed miracles, He was very God and very man (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18; Isaiah 7: 14; 9: 16).
Christ's Death & Resurrection
We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and physically rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples (I Corinthians 15: 1-4; Romans 4:25).
Christ's Bodily Ascension & Return
We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation to the right hand of the Father & His future, personal, literal & bodily coming again to this earth for the 2nd time for the Church in power & glory to rule a thousand years (John 14:2-3; 1 Thes 4: 13-18).
ABOUT OUR KEY DOCTRINES
Salvation By Grace Through Faith
We believe the only way of salvation is by grace, through repentance and faith in the blood of Christ and in His perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we gain forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9: 12, 22; Romans 5: 11).
Communion
We believe in the Table of the Lord, commonly called Communion or the Lord's Supper, for believers (I Cor 11:28-32). This practice helps us remember the death and the life of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Eternal Life
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, eternal life for believers (John 5:24; 3: 16) and eternal punishment for unbelievers (Mark 9:43-58; II Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 20: 10-15).
Satan & His Judgement
We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and eternal judgment of Satan and his angels (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10-15).
Water Baptism
We believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Eternal Godhead in order to fulfill the command of Christ (Matthew 28;19; Acts 2:34-36; 19:1-6).
ABOUT GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. We also believe in the baptism of the Holy Sprit as an experience subsequent to salvation (Acts 2:1-4;
The Gifts of the Spirit
We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in I Corinthians 12-14, and as manifested in the Early Church. We eagerly desire to have these gifts fully functioning within the members of our local church body.
Spirit-Filled Living
We believe in the Spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the world and perfecting holiness in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith (Ephesians 5:18; I Corinthians 6: 14; 7:1).
Healing
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body by Divine Power as an answer to believing prayer. This divine healing and its varied aspects were actively practiced in the Early Church (Acts 4:30; Romans 8: 11; I Corinthians 12:9; James 5:1 ).
What denomination is Allison Park Church affiliated with?
Allison Park Church is an Assembly of God Church. The Assemblies of God was birthed in the fires of revival that swept the world at the turn of the century. Participants in the revival were filled with the Holy Spirit in similar fashion to the disciples and followers of Jesus on the Jewish Feast of Pentecost.
Like those in the Upper Room (Acts 2:1-4), the followers of the 20th century revival spoke in tongues as they received the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
The resurgence of the Holy Spirit’s outpouring is generally traced to Topeka, Kansas, in January 1901. From Topeka the winds of the Holy Spirit carried the revival south and into the western regions of North America. This great revival movement eventually paved the way for the formation of the Assemblies of God in 1914.
The first meeting of the Assemblies of God was held in Hot Springs, Arkansas, in April 1914. This meeting brought together some 300 church leaders. Apprehensive about creating another denomination, those attending agreed to form a loosely knit fellowship of independent churches. So began the General Council of the Assemblies of God.
What exactly is the Assemblies of God?
The Assemblies of God is...
· The largest Pentecostal fellowship of churches.
· One of the fastest growing movements around the world.
· A world-wide fellowship of over 30 million adherents from many races, languages & nations.
Why not just be an Independent Church?
We are an independent church!
Every Assemblies of God church is completely independent. There is no denominational control or hierarchy as there is in most other denominations. Each church is self-governed and determines its own affairs. For example:
· Every Assemblies of God church chooses its own pastor.
· Every Assemblies of God church owns its own buildings and assets.
· Every Assemblies of God church determines its own programs.
What are the advantages of affiliating with the Assemblies of God?
It allows us to identify with other Christians around the world who are known for their commitment to the Bible and to the power of the Holy Spirit. Unlike other groups, the Assemblies of God has no man-made “creed”. The Bible is our only authority.
It allows our church to participate in the fastest growing missionary organizations in the world. Through the Assemblies of God we help support missionaries in countries around the world.
